Five local area teams have advanced to the GHSA State Playoffs in softball. Lumpkin County (20-10), White County (15-11), Pickens County (21-6), and Dawson County (17-13) all advanced to the first round in the respective divisions.

Local softball fans will get a nice treat in round 1, as Region foes Pickens and Dawson will take the diamond on Friday night to see who will advance to the next round.
