Warrior Wellness Center Ribbon Cutting

WHITE COUNTY, Ga.- The White County Board of Education partnered with MedLink to bring the first school-based wellness center to White County and it had its ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 7.

Superintendent Dr. Laurie Burkett and MedLink CEO Dave Ward spoke before gathering all school system and MedLink employees present for the ribbon cutting. The Warrior Wellness Center has already opened its doors to the students, faculty, and family members of the White County school system.

The wellness center has three nurse practitioners and their assistants. On Mondays Nurse Sarah Parker will be available, on Thursdays Nurse Kristen Maxwell will be on site, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays Nurse Mystical Evans will be the nurse present.

The wellness center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. They offer both behavioral and primary care to all students, their families, and the staff of the school system.

Mayor Josh Turner, Chairperson for the Board of Education Missy Jarrard, and Board members Linda Erbele and John Estes were present at the ceremony. There are two patient rooms and two behavioral offices. MedLink has partnerships with LightHouse and SmileKids and plans to add those services to the center in the future.
