Wanted Lumpkin County Fugitive Captured After Standoff in Rabun County

RABUN COUNTY, Ga. — A wanted fugitive out of Lumpkin County was taken into custody following a brief standoff with law enforcement in Rabun County, according to Sheriff Mark Gerrells.

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office and Dillard Police Department conducted a joint operation in the area of Highway 246 and Trinity Lane to locate and apprehend Jordan Bradley Roberts, who was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants from Lumpkin County.

Authorities said investigators received information indicating Roberts was possibly in the Dillard area. Due to the nature of the outstanding charges and information suggesting he could be armed, a significant law enforcement presence was established in the area as officers worked to safely take him into custody.

Roberts was eventually located and arrested following a brief standoff with law enforcement. No injuries were reported in the sheriff’s statement.

Gerrells thanked members of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office and Dillard Police Department for their teamwork and professionalism during the operation. He also thanked residents for their patience and cooperation while law enforcement worked in the area.

Additional details regarding Roberts’ outstanding charges in Lumpkin County were not immediately provided.
