Two Men Arrested on Meth Trafficking Charges Following Hart County Traffic Stop

HART COUNTY, Ga. — Two North Georgia men are facing drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop in Hart County led to the discovery of nearly 40 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, according to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrests stem from a traffic stop conducted on July 1, when a Hart County deputy pulled over a black 2007 Ford tow truck traveling on Providence Church Road after observing multiple traffic and commercial vehicle violations.

During the investigation, the deputy developed reasonable suspicion of criminal activity and obtained consent to search the vehicle. Authorities said the search uncovered just under 40 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine packaged in two separate bags, along with drug-related paraphernalia, including digital scales.

The driver, 55-year-old Steven Lance Hamil of Roswell, and passenger David Hiram Daniel, 64, of Woodstock, were both arrested.

Both men have been charged with:

  • Trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug-related objects
  • Operating an unregistered motor vehicle
  • No insurance

The investigation remains ongoing.

Sheriff Chris Carroll said the sheriff’s office remains committed to aggressively targeting the trafficking of illegal narcotics throughout Hart County.

“The proactive efforts of our deputies continue to remove dangerous drugs from our roadways and help keep Hart County a safer place to live, work, and visit,” Carroll said.
