Multiple agencies assist in man hunt

HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. – On Tuesday, April 30, Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, Baldwin Police Department, Mt. Airy Police Department, Habersham County Central Communications/Emergency Management Agency and Cornelia Code Enforcement assisted in locating a fleeing suspect accused of stealing a vehicle.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Jones Street in reference to the stolen vehicle.

According to the report, It was found not long afterwards in Cornelia City Park and a perimeter was set and K-9 units from Habersham and Stephens responded.

“After a lengthy pursuit, and several tips from the community, the offender was Located in the area of Lee Street by Cornelia Code Enforcement. The investigation is still ongoing.”
