Lakemont Man Arrested for Falsely Reporting Terrorist Threats Made Through Social Media

RABUN COUNTY, Ga. – In mid-February, Rabun County Deputies took a report from Kevin Gragg of Terroristic Threats being made against him through Facebook: Messenger by his soon-to-be ex-wife, Krissi Gragg.

Kevin Gragg told Deputies that he received several direct messages to his Faccbook account from an account belonging to Krissi. Those messages include threats of violence as well as repeated abusive and profane language.

A month-and-a-half-long investigation that included two search warrants served on Facebook, a Verizon Wireless search warrant, several subpoenas, and roughly ten interviews has uncovered that the Facebook: account used to send those messages was faked and created only days before the alleged terroristic threats were sent.

Data obtained from Facebook and Verizon revealed that the account’s creator had several ties to Kevin Gragg.

One of those ties included the cell phone number that created the Facebook profile usod cell phone towers within a short distance of Kevin’s residence in Lakemont.

Additionally, during the investigation, Kevin Gragg attempted to make contact with Krissi three times despite the presence of an active Family Violence Protection Order. Investigators obtained warrants for Kevin Gragg, a 41-ycar-old white male, for Violation of Family Violence Order and False Report of Crime.

Kevin Gragg was arrested Thursday afternoon at his home in Lakemont, Ga.
