Humane society reneges on property for animal control

FANNIN COUNTY, Ga. – Supporters of Fannin County Animal Control are ‘extremely disappointed’ to find The Blue Ridge Humane Society has decided to keep the property that was set aside to be the new site of Fannin County Animal Control.

FYN spoke to Commissioner Jamie Hensley who confirmed that the humane society did change their mind after initially committing the property to FCAC.

Fannin County Animal Control has stated that they have been waiting for two years for the county to sign the contract to begin the steps to construct the property.

Supporters of FCAC plan on attending the scheduled board meeting on Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m. to address their concerns.

As more and more animals are being abandoned or dumbed in Fannin County, if you would like to support FCAC, a donation can be made through the QR code below!
