Fugitive arrested after 2 years on the run

PRESS RELEASE – On April 11, 2024, the Forsyth County Warrant Unit along with the Assistance of the JCaF Task Force, Dawson County Sheriff’s Office and the US Marshals Office arrested 42-year-old Vanus Nichols in Dawsonville.

Nichols had a Felony Probation warrant, his original charge was Possession with Intent to Sell Methamphetamine.

He had been on the run since April 2022.

Vanus was taken into custody without injury, after first trying to avoid deputies as they pulled into his residence.

He was also wanted by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
