FLOYD COUNTY, Ga. — The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of one of its Top 10 Most Wanted individuals following a coordinated fugitive investigation.
Jefferey Scott Stamey is now in custody after being located at a motel in neighboring Polk County, where he was taken into custody without incident.
The arrest was carried out following an investigation led by Deputy Bowerman and Corporal Towle.
According to authorities, Stamey was wanted on multiple charges, including family violence-related offenses and the neglect of a disabled adult.
The charges listed by the sheriff’s office include false imprisonment in a family violence context, battery in a family violence incident, and neglect of a disabled adult.
Officials have not released additional details regarding the circumstances leading up to the arrest, but confirmed that Stamey is being held pending further legal proceedings.
The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office said the apprehension reflects ongoing efforts to locate and detain individuals listed on its most wanted roster.
