ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a residential fire in Dawsonville claimed the life of one victim.
On November 15th, Dawson County Fire officials requested the State Fire Marshal’s Office to respond to a residential fire with one recorded fatality on Kelly Bridge Road. The seventeen hundred square foot residence was around seventy-two years old and was completely destroyed by the fire.
“After the fire was put out, firefighters located the victim’s body in the ashes of the residence,” said Commissioner King. “The victim was removed from the scene and transported to the GBI Crime Lab to learn the victim’s identity and cause of death. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.”
