DAWSON COUNTY, Ga. – A juvenile was detained Tuesday following an altercation involving multiple juvenile males at Dawson County Junior High School, according to the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office.

DCSO School Resource Officers responded to the school on Tuesday, Sept. 8, after an incident involving juvenile males. During the altercation, a knife was reportedly produced.

The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into the incident and contacted the Department of Juvenile Justice.

One juvenile was detained in connection with the incident, while another juvenile sustained minor injuries and was treated by the school nurse before being released to a guardian.

The investigation remains ongoing. The sheriff’s office said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
